Second Saturday Speaker at the Carnegie in Carnegie — An ONLINE Presentation — Facebook Live and Zoom

January 9, 2021 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

Free

IT IS FINALLY HERE!  JOIN ME. JANUARY 9. 1:00 PM

I am honored and humbled to be chosen as a featured speaker in the on-going Second Saturday Civil War Speaker Series held at the Carnegie Library in Carnegie, PA.

The Civil War book collection at the library is one of the best anywhere. An entire room is devoted to the war and open to the public, with most books circulating. The restored GAR Thomas Espy Post #153 is the gem of the library, and arguably the most intact room of its kind in the nation–full of artifacts and relics collected and saved by veterans of the Union Army. I am a volunteer docent there, giving tours of what to me is a sacred place–their meeting room. I transcribe the minutes, as well–helping to digitize volume after volume–which is an unbelievable door into the past.

I love the Carnegie Carnegie and am looking forward to speaking about what took place during the war in my native state of Kentucky and sharing what I do as a researcher/author–fictionalizing the Civil War experiences of my Kentucky and Ohio ancestors. It’s my way of honoring those men who toed the mark. The talk will be followed by a book signing.
